I note that when you are beta reading someone else's project, you should likewise start with the large picture and work your way down. Typos are not useful info if the scene has to go.

I'm finishing up 1 project before diving into editing another and I'm glad I read this first. I would have messed with the one document, but I really like the idea of making a new one and putting draft 2 on there. I've deleted entire drafts before and...semi-regret it lol. Some stuff I know I would never use, but others I think it would be nice to look at how hot a mess my manuscript was at the the start :D
I love how you break your editing down into multiple steps.
I like to read the document out loud after a proofreading pass. That helps me catch a lot of the little things I missed the first time.
And I also love that you saved proofreading for last. 😊 It's such a an important step. Readers want to read a clear message without little errors distracting them. I believe proofreaders are advocates for the reader too. Readers leave comments, and if there are distractions, they'll let others know.
Thank you for this. Is there a particular text-to-speach app that you'd recommend?
I use Natural Readers (the free version). 😊
Thank you 😊

Yes, absolutely agree with what you're saying about proofreaders being advocates! It's such an important part of the editing process!
Very helpful - thank you for taking the time to do this!
